Marro Repaints


Well, since I am in the painting mood and working on finishing up painting the Dark Rider of Mimring I thought I would share a few of my other paint jobs.

When I first got into Heroscape the Marro were one of my favorite themed armies to play. I also, decided to repaint a few of them to help them stand out a little better. Not to mention I thought that the Grok Riders and Su-Bak-Na should actually be riding on Marro/Wulsinu.

Weekly Update

A little slower of a week for Heroscape. No, painting done on The Dark Rider of Mimring, but I did make a list of all of the official characters mentioned in the Journals and the Bio's. Which is mostly heroes, but it gives me about 30 ideas to work with (including the Giant Ants and Evil Raelin). I did get an awesome 4 player game in of capture the flag.

Disney Scape 
Still working on the Three Good Fairies and Maleficent. Both are very close to being done but still need a few more tests to be sure. So, stay tuned for those when I finish them. Here are pictures of the figures.

Weathered Stone Kyrie Statue

This is a pretty easy terrain piece to make and I wanted to share it, unfortunately I didn't take any before or during pictures. Here is what you will need:
  • Old trophy with angel "Kyrie" on top
  • 1 single hex Heroscape terrain piece
  • Super glue 
  • Grey Krylon primer spray paint
  • White acrylic paint
  • Paint brush
  • Flat or Satin clear Kryon spray paint

Now remove the "Kyrie" from the trophy base and attach it to the single hex. Next, paint using the grey primer. Once the paint is dry, apply the weathering look by dry brushing on the white acrylic paint. Finally, seal it with a clear coat and you are done. I used a flat clear coat on this one.

FAIRY ENHANCEMENT 
All friendly Fairies adjacent to Aurora receive an additional attack and an additional defense die.

 
ENCHANTING SERENADE
After moving and before attacking, you may choose any unique figure adjacent to Princess Aurora. Roll that 20-sided die. If you roll a 19 or 20, take control of the chosen figure and that figure’s Army Card. You now control that Army Card and all figures on it. Remove any Order Markers on the chosen figure’s Army Card. If Princess Aurora is destroyed, you retain control of any previously Enchanted Army Cards.

Weekly Update

Well, it was another great week for Heroscape. The Dungeon Crawler Kickstarter was a major success and I can't wait until all of my new minis get here. Time to start working on making custom units out of all of these great minis so I can have some epic sea battles.

Disney Scape
I am done with the all of the Never Fairy units, now it is time to move on to the Princesses. These have been much harder to create and currently I only have 1 of them really complete...so we will start with Princess Aurora and come back to the others once I get to them. But here is a picture of them all.



The Dark Rider of Mimring WIP
So, I really enjoy making customs that are official characters that were not made into playable units, like my Raelin the Kyrie Warrior and the Xualtiaca Fire Ants (which I am still working on). If you have seen or read the few Heroscape comics then you will know that Raelin is at one point Mind Shackled by Kee-Mo-Shi, hence my custom of Raelin following Utgar. Well in that same comic before the forces of Jandar find out Raelin has been Mind Skackled they encounter Mimring and his new rider...who unknown to them is Raelin. You can check out the comic HERE by downloading it. To create this custom figure I modded a Mimring and Raelin the Kyrie Warrior (RotV). Here are a couple pictures showing where I am at, I can't wait to start painting.
Now time for the abilities; not sure if I will use all 4 but most likely I will because True Identity isn't a real power more of a rule to prevent the use of multiple Raelins or Mimrings. 

TRUE IDENTITY
If you have Dark Rider of Mimring in your army you may not have Raelin the Kyrie Warrior or Mimring in your Army.

DEFENSIVE AURA
All figures you control within 4 clear sight spaces of Dark Rider of Mimring add 1 to their defense dice. Dark Rider of Mimring’s Defensive Aura does not affect Dark Rider of Mimring.

FIRE LINE SPECIAL ATTACK
Range Special. Attack 4.
Choose 8 spaces in a straight line from Dark Rider of Mimring. All figures on those spaces who are in line of sight are affected by Dark Rider of Mimring’s Fire Line Special Attack. Roll 4 attack dice once for all affected figures. Affected figures roll defense dice separately.

FLYING
When counting spaces for Dark Rider of Mimring’s movement, ignore elevations. Dark Rider of Mimring may fly over water without stopping, pass over figures without becoming engaged, and fly over obstacles such as ruins. When Dark Rider of Mimring starts to fly, if she is engaged she will take any leaving engagement attacks.

FAIRY BONDING 
After revealing a numbered Order Marker on the Never Fairies Army Card and before taking a turn with the Never Fairies, you may first take a turn with any Fairy Hero you control. 

FRENZY
After you take a turn with the Never Fairies, roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 16 or higher, you may take another turn with the Never Fairies.

STEALTH FLYING
When counting spaces for the Never Fairies movement ignore elevations. The Never Fairies may fly over water without stopping, pass over figures without becoming engaged, and fly over obstacles such as ruins. When a member of the Never Fairies starts to fly, if she is engaged she will not take any leaving engagement attacks.

FRENZY : Continuous Rolling
How does Frenzy work? Can I keep rolling for Frenzy if I get it on my first try?
Yes. You can keep rolling for Frenzy after each turn until you roll less than a 16 or choose not to roll any more. If you're lucky, you can take multiple turns before your opponent has a chance to retaliate! (Hasbro FAQ)

HEALING FRUIT
After revealing an Order Marker on a wounded tiny, small or medium Hero you control that is adjacent to Lily, and before using any other special powers on any Army Card or Glyph, you may first roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 1-11, nothing happens. If you roll a 12 or higher, remove up to 2 wound markers form that Hero’s Army Card.

Weekly Update

This has been an amazing Heroscape week. I got 4 games in and a lot of needed painting of figures. I even had a little time to start a couple more designs...with a little more refining I should have some new WIPs up. I even got to go visit and play with my good friend Tiranx.

It has also been a great week for Dungeon Crawler's Kickstarter, each ends in 3 days. They have reached the goal for the painted Peryton and Mermaid. Now they on working on the large Tentacle to go with the Kraken. And here is a picture of the Firbolg Skeleton  painted. I am so excited for this mimi...and he is one of the designs I just started.

I released a two more fairies last week: Vidia and Fira. This week I should have the remaining Never Fairies' Books complete and ready for release.

FAIRY LIGHT SPECAIL ATTACK
Range 7. Attack 1 + Special.
Choose a figure to attack. Any figures adjacent to the chosen figure are also affected by the Fairy Light Special Attack. Add 1 to Fira’s attack dice for every additional Fairy you control within 3 clear sight spaces of Fira, up to a maxium of +3 dice. Roll attack dice once for all affected figures. Each figure rolls defense dice separately. Fira cannot be affected by her own Fariy Light Special Attack.

VANISH 9
If Vidia is attacked and at least 1 skull is rolled, roll the 20-sided die to vanish. If you roll a 1-8, roll defense dice normally. If you roll a 9 or higher, Vidia takes no damage and may immediately move up to 4 spaces. Vidia can vanish only if she ends her vanishing move not adjacent to any enemy figures.

Weekly Update

The Dungeon Crawler kick starter has been stuck for about a week. They are trying to get it going by possibly switching which goal is next and have also added a new mini as another stretch goal...don't know if it is going to work but I wish them well. Here is a few more pics of a few of the figures in they are planning...I really like the Botanimoth a lot.

Disney Scape
I have released my first Disney custom for Heroscape: Tinker Bell. For a list and more information on future units check out the Disney Scape tab. Here is a picture of the rest of the upcoming Never Fairies. The figures used are a little big compared to Heroscape figures but that works out just fine, because if they were sculpted to size they would be invisible. So, for hit zones only their heads can be targeted.

FAIRY DUST
Start the game with 3 pink Fairy Dust Markers on this card. At the end of the turn, if you have at least 1 Fairy Dust Marker on this card, you may choose any unique Hero you control adjacent to Tinker Bell. Place a Fairy Dust Marker on the chosen figure's Army Card. That figure now has the Ability of Flying for the rest of the game. 

FRENZY ENHANCEMENT 
Add 1 to your die roll when you roll for the Frenzy power on any Army Card.

The Book of Zombikazes

Wave 1 - Darkness Falling - Exploding Dead

The figure used for this unit is a Custom Creation of Bangerang.




EXHUME 
Instead of moving and attacking normally, Zombikazes may use Exhume. Roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 15-19 , place 1 previously destroyed Zombikaze on any empty land space. If you roll a 20 place 2  previously destroyed Zombikazes on any empty land spaces. You cannot place them adjacent to each other or other figures, or on glyphs.  

KABOOM! 
When a Zombikaze is destroyed, roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 1, nothing happens. If you roll a 2-10, roll 2 attack dice once for all adjacent figures. If you roll a 11-18, roll 3 attack dice for all adjacent figures. If you roll a 19-20, roll 3 attack dice once for all figures within 2 clear site spaces and no more than 8 levels up or down.  All affected figures roll defense dice separately.
