While designing the powers for these cards I have reused official powers and powers from many custom units created the online Heroscape community. I have done this to help keep the units simple and the powers familiar. I would like to give credit to those who may have come up with those powers.
All of my Tolkein customs will be designed to be compatible with classic Heroscape, as far as points go. However, they will not follow the Heroscape generals (Jandar, Utgar, etc.); instead they will follow the Land or Kingdom they are from and fight for. For example, Boromir would follow Gondor. There will also be those who don't really have a Land they belong to, like Gollum or Gandalf, so they will be "wild" not belonging to a Land or Kingdom. The purpose of the Land or Kingdom is to create synergy and theme when building armies and designing the powers for the units. Along with the figures I will also be making Items (know as glyphs).

ReplyDeleteNo I don't. In each of the "books" for each character I list the figure that I used and you can download the cards and print them out. Hope that helps.
DeleteYou should consider selling "Heroscape Compatible" items/figures/terrains. Your work is good and beyond the skill of many. Also, it'd be great to have a source for Heroscape stuff!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind words. Unfortunately I just don't have the time to do that. There was a time that I did make figures/terrain and sell them but now I am just focused on finding time to test my customs and share them here so others can use/make them for themselves.

If you have the WIP files for unreleased units, such as the Balrog, would you mind sharing them somewhere so that myself and others could use them as a reference? Thank you and great work!
ReplyDeleteGlad that you enjoy them! I use Photoshop to alter and make the cards, then I use Indesign to add the text.
DeleteI will have to look through what I do not have packed right now...most everything is packed to move in the coming months. However, I do have a few more cards finished up to add on here, but it doesn't include the Balrog...he is a tough one due to his high point cost and trying to narrow down his abilities.

ReplyDeleteThank you, I am glad you like them. No updates at this time on any LotR customs. Time is short these days but I do want to finish them at some point. I have finished some new classic, disney, and super customs this month though, so check them out.
