The figure used for this unit is Guard of the Citadel from Heroclix: Lord of the Rings Starter Set.


Character Bio: Peregrin "Pippin" Took was a Hobbit of the Shire, and one of Frodo Baggins's youngest but closest friends. Frodo is also Pippin's 2nd cousin once removed.


FOOL’S LUCK

The figure used for this unit is Esquire of Rohan from Heroclix: Lord of the Rings Starter Set.

Character Bio: Meriadoc "Merry" Brandybuck was a Hobbit (a Halfling), and one of Frodo's cousins and closest friends. He loved boats and ponies and had a great interest in the maps of Middle-earth. He is also one of the nine companions in The Fellowship of the Ring.

    The figure used for this unit is Bilbo Baggins from Heroclix: Hobbit An Unexpected Journey Starter Set.


    Character Bio: Bilbo Baggins was a Hobbit, and the main protagonist in The Hobbit. He was hired by Thorin and Company to be their burglar on the Quest of Erebor, and later fought in the Battle of the Five Armies. Bilbo was also one of the bearers of the One Ring, and the first to voluntarily give it up, although with some difficulty. He wrote of his adventures in a book he called There and Back Again. Bilbo adopted his nephew Frodo Baggins after his father, Drogo Baggins, ended up drowning in the Brandywine River. Bilbo was the first Hobbit to become famous in the world at large and one of the few to visit the The Undying Lands.


    HOBBIT BURGLAR

    The figure used for this unit is Bard the Bowman from Heroclix: Hobbit Desolation of Smaug set.

    Character Bio: Bard also known as Bard the Bowman, was a Man of Laketown, slayer of the dragon, Smaug, and founder of the New Kingdom of Dale.

    “ Arrow! Black arrow! I have saved you to the last. You have never failed me and always I have recovered you. I had you from my father and he from of old. If ever you came from the forges of the true king under the Mountain, go now and speed well!”


    SKY WATCHER
    If Bard the Bowman is attacking a non-adjacent figure that has a Flying or Stealth Flying special power, add 2 dice to Bard the Bowman’s attack.


    BLACK ARROW
    After moving and before attacking with Bard the Bowman, you may choose any opponent’s figure within 5 clear sight spaces of Bard the Bowman. If the chosen figure is a Dragon add 3 to your roll.     The Book of the Glyph of Mithril Shirt

    The Book of the Glyph of Mithril Shirt

    Glyph Bio - he origins of the shirt are unknown, but it came to be part of the Dwarven treasure hoard of the Lonely Mountain. It was found by the dragon Smaug and added to his treasure heap. Here it was given by Thorin II Oakenshield to the Hobbit Bilbo Baggins, who wore it during the Battle of Five Armies. After returning to the Shire, Bilbo donated the shirt to the Mathom-house. Before departing The Shire for Rivendell, Bilbo retrieved the shirt and wore it on that journey. 

    Many years later it was gifted by Bilbo to his nephew Frodo Baggins as Frodo set out on his quest to Mount Doom to destroy the One Ring. Frodo hid the chain shirt under his tunic unknown to the rest of the Fellowship. It was discovered when, during a battle in the mines of Moria, an orc chieftain threw his spear at Frodo (Alternatively, in the Peter Jackson film it was a troll who speared Frodo). The shirt prevented what would have been a lethal wound, leaving Frodo severely bruised but still alive.

    Glyph Bio - Like all High-Elven swords, Glamdring was like Orcrist and Sting in that "being the work of Elvish smiths in the Elder Days these swords shone with a cold light, if any Orcs were near at hand," and so warned their bearers of nearby evil. Glamdring was "bright as blue flame for delight in the killing of the" Great Goblin, but that could have referred to its brightness in that situation; everywhere else in Tolkien's writings, Glamdring's color when glowing is always described as white.

    Glamdring is translated as Foe-hammer (A Sindarin word), and the Goblins in The Hobbit call it "Beater".

    Glyph Bio - Sting was an ancient blade made by Elvish weapon-smiths in Gondolin. When orcs or goblins were within an undetermined radius of it, the blade glowed blue, alerting the wielder and others who could see it to their presence. It had been lost during the Fall of Gondolin.

    In The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, engraved on the blade are Sindarin letters that read phonetically, "Maegnas aen estar nin dagnir in yngyl im". Translated they read, "Sting is my name; I am the spider's bane"

    TMNT Neutrino Hot Rod WIP part 1

    After a much needed vacation I am back home and ready to start working on more customs. I have decided to start with something I could finish quickly, as to give myself some motivation to tackle bigger projects and playtesting that needs to be done. 

    I really love the TMNT and as mentioned in my last UPDATE I am working on many more customs to complete my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle universe for Heroscape. With the current ongoing TMNT comics by IDW the Neutrinos get a huge make over from the original cartoon. I will base my Neutrino customs on the IDW comics, the one exception to this will be Zak; he will be a mix between the original cartoon and the ongoing IDW comic. He will be a solider as in the IDW comics but he will have a flying "Hot Rod" like from the original cartoon. 

    Here are a few pictures that I will be using as references and inspiration for this custom:



    I really loved the Foot Cruiser as a kid and I liked how the wheels folded under the car. I will be doing the same here because it will be easier and I then will not have to paint the car once finished.

    Okay then time to get started. First thing needed is a 1:43 scale car that looks the part. I used a red 1955 Cadilac Eldorado made by New Ray. Here it is next to Donatello and on some tiles to show its scale (note:I have already removed the base the car was on).



    Now Time to flip it over and remove the 2 screws that are holding the car together. 



    Next removing the wheels from the axles. This is down by puling really hard. Once one of the wheels is removed you can then remove the axle from the body and remove the remaining wheel. 



    Now time to do a little trimming on the wheels so they can be glued in place.

    Now here it is right side up and next to its large peanut base. I now need to measure and drill the holes into the base for the clear acrylic support rods and then paint the base black. 



    The acrylic rods I am using are 1/8" and I cut them just over 1" and and 1.4" long. But you can cut them to any length, which will change how high off the ground the hot rod is.





    Both rods cut and glued in place; still can't believe that those two holes where perfectly placed to insert the rods into. Note: that I cut the rear rod shorter then the front.



    Here it is glued onto the base after the base was painted black. As you will notice the car is tilted, both with the front end going up and with the passenger side higher then the driver side. This is so it looks a little more dynamic.



    Now to find a figure for Zak to modify, paint, and put in the drivers seat.

    The figures used for this unit is a modded Kelda figure from the Heroscape, Wave 1 Malliddon's Prophecy.



    HYPNOTIC AURA
    If an opponent’s unengaged figure attacks and is within 10 clear sight spaces of Aquilla, it must attack Aquilla if able.

    SEEPING POISON ARROW
    Instead of attacking, you may choose 1 Unique Hero within 5 clear sight spaces of Aquilla. Roll the 20-sided die. If you roll 1 - 7, nothing happens. If you roll 8 - 15, place 5 poison markers on the chosen Hero’s Army Card. If you roll 16-19 place 3 poison markers on the chosen Hero’s Army Card. If you roll a 20 place 1 poison marker on the chosen Hero’s Army Card. Remove 1 poison marker from the chosen Hero’s Army Card after a turn is taken with the chosen Hero. Destroy the chosen Hero when the final poison marker is removed.

    CONCEALMENT 10
    If Aquilla is targeted and receives one or more wounds from an attacking figure who is not adjacent, you must roll the 20-sided die. Count the minimum number of spaces between the attacker and Aquilla. Add this number to your die roll. If you roll a 10 or higher, ignore any wounds Aquilla just received.

    STEALTH FLYING
    When counting spaces for Aquilla’s movement ignore elevations. Aquilla may fly over water without stopping, pass over figures without becoming engaged, and fly over obstacles such as ruins. When Aquilla starts to fly, if she is engaged she will not take any leaving engagement attacks.



    -Rulings and Clarifications-
    EVENT HEROES:
    This rule, although optional, should always be used when playing with an Event Hero. The main thing to remember about Event Heroes is that because they are a different type of hero, they are not susceptible to powers that specify Unique or Common Heroes. 

    EVENT HERO SPECIAL RULE:
    When selecting cards to put in your Army, you cannot select two of the same Event Army Card. Event Heroes are never destroyed without first taking enough wounds to be destroyed. If a terrain rule or a special power on any Army Card, Glyph, or Destructible Object would automatically destroy an Event Hero, that terrain rule or special power instead inflicts 4 wounds on that Event Hero. Players may never take temporary or permanent control of an opponent's Event Hero. 

    EVENT HERO CLARIFICATION
    Event Heroes may not pick up Equipment Glyphs. Equipment Glyphs may only be equipped by Unique Heroes.
