Bangerang Master Set 1 - Enchantment of Valhalla

This has been a long time coming; my first Master Set. It started back in 2016 when I decided to redo all of the units from Magic the Gathering: Arena of the Planeswalkers sets. I also wanted to introduce spell cards into the game. I had tried with others on Heroscapes.com to make spell and rune cards previously. I consistently ran into the same problems: more complex, unnecessary, more rules, remaking old cards, etc. But I also had reasons to continue: more thematic for magic units like wizards, variety, good filler cards, good for champions and scenarios.  Well along this journey I went through many versions of this and during this time the C3G on Heroscapers.com came out with a rule set for spell cards that was simple and easy to use, so I have adopted it and made a few tweaks to it. I also, decided that instead of trying to remake all the spells from Magic the Gathering: Arena of the Planeswalkers sets, I would make the spells mirror special powers and attacks that are mostly already in the game. 

Spells, Summons, & Summoner Rules
In this Master Set you will find not only spell cards but also a spell typing system to tie into the elements of nature and remakes of various Heroscape cards to accommodate the use of spells as Spellcasters.  All of these new spell cards along with any card remakes may be found in the rule book. The new Units will have their own books and all of the spells will be also posted below here for reference. 

In addition, you will also find the introduction of Summons and Summoners. Many Spellcasters also have the ability to summon powerful elementals on to the battle field and control them. This is an extension of my Neutral Figures rules and completes that remaking of previous Heroscape cards as such. 

Please note that like traditional Heroscape not all spells or units are created equal, some will be more powerful then others and some will lack in power but be very thematic. 

Now that this has been completed I will hopefully be able to put out more customs that have been backlogged because of this needed Rule Set, and you might of noticed a Halloween Witch who came out a little early with the Spellcasting ability. 

SPELL CARDS

               





The Book of Durnipia

 The Book of Durnipia

Bangerang Master Set 1 -Enchantment of Valhalla 


The figure used for this unit is Sophie from Reaper Bones III.


Bio: Lady Durnipia, Einar's prominent healer in command who have saved the lives of many of the injured. Including the 10th Regiment of Foot and Valguard.


YELLOW SPELLCASTER
This figure may be chosen to cast a Yellow Spell. Each Player may only cast one Spell during each players turns.  

ENCHANTED HEALING
Roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 15 or higher, remove up to 2 damage markers from a friendly Hero. The chosen Hero gets +2 attack until end of the round.

SPELL BOOKS OF VALHALLA
When drafting Durnipia you may also draft  up to 3 Spell Cards of any color with a cost total of 25 points. These spells are considered to be Yellow Spell Cards.

FLYING
When counting spaces for Durnipia’s movement ignore elevations. Durnipia may fly over 
water without stopping, pass over figures without becoming engaged, and fly over obstacles such as ruins. When Durnipia starts to fly, if she is engaged she will take any leaving engagement attacks.

RED SPELLCASTER

This figure may be chosen to cast a Red Spell. Each Player may only cast one Spell during each players turns.  

RED SUMMONER
When revealing a Order Marker on Chandra Nalaar you may place a Red Summon unit from your Reserve on to the battlefield within 5 clear sight spaces of Chandra Nalaar. If you did not place a Red Summon unit this turn, instead of taking a turn with Chandra Nalaar, you may take a turn with any Red Summon you control.

DOUBLE ATTACK
When Chandra Nalaar attacks, she may attack one additional time.

SUPER HEATED
Once per turn, you may remove from play a Red Spell Card you control. If you do, choose a figure within 6 clear sight spaces of Chandra Nalaar. The chosen figure receives one wound.

The figure used for this unit is Nissa Revane from Magic the Gathering: Area of the Planeswalkers.


GREEN SPELLCASTER

This figure may be chosen to cast a Green Spell. Each Player may only cast one Spell during each players turns.  

GREEN SUMMONER
When revealing a Order Marker on Nissa Revane you may place a Green Summon unit from your Reserve on to the battlefield within 5 clear sight spaces of Nissa Revane. If you did not place a Green Summon unit this turn, instead of taking a turn with Nissa Revane, you may take a turn with any Green Summon you control.

KEEN SIGHT
All figures you control within 4 clear sight spaces with a range of 4 or more add 2 to their range. 

SPRINT
After attacking you may move Nissa Revane up to 3 spaces.

BLUE SPELLCASTER
This figure may be chosen to cast a Blue Spell. Each Player may only cast one Spell during each players turns.  

BLUE SUMMONER
When revealing a Order Marker on Kiora you may place a Blue Summon unit from your Reserve on to the battlefield within 5 clear sight spaces of Kiora. If you did not place a Blue Summon unit this turn, instead of taking a turn with Kiora, you may take a turn with any Blue Summon you control.

BIDENT OF THASSA
When revealing a numbered Order Marker on Kiora’s Army Card, you may also reveal an “X” Order Marker that is on Kiora’s Army Card to activate Bident of Thassa. When Bident of Thassa is activated, You may play an additional Spell card per turn. 

CARRY BY WAVES
At the start of Kiora’s turn, you may choose an unengaged friendly small or medium figure. move the chosen figure up to 4 spaces.

SEA BORN
Kiora does not have to stop her movement when entering a water space. While Kiora is on a water space, add 2 to her Defense.

This figure may be chosen to cast a Black Spell. Each Player may only cast one Spell during each players turns.  

BLACK SUMMONER 
When revealing a Order Marker on Liliana Vess you may place a Hero or Squad with the Black Summon Special Power from your Reserve on to the battlefield within 5 clear sight spaces of Liliana Vess. If you did not place a Black Summon unit this turn, instead of taking a turn with Liliana Vess, you may take a turn with any Hero or Squad with the Black Summon Special Power you control.

UNDEAD TOUGHNESS
Undead figures you control within 4 clear sight spaces of Liliana Vess add 1 to their Defense numbers.

SNUFF OUT
Once per turn, you may destroy one Squad figure within 6 clear sight spaces of Liliana.

This figure may be chosen to cast a Purple Spell. Each Player may only cast one Spell during each players turns.  

PURPLE SUMMONER
When revealing a Order Marker on Jace Beleren you may place a Purple Summon unit from your Reserve on to the battlefield within 5 clear sight spaces of Jace Beleren. If you did not place a Purple Summon unit this turn, instead of taking a turn with Jace Beleren, you may take a turn with any Purple Summon you control.

MIND STEALER 16
After taking a turn with Jace Beleren, you may choose any Unique Hero figure within 4 clear sight spaces of Jace. Roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 16 or higher, take temporary control of the chosen
Hero and immediately take a turn with that Hero. At the end of that turn, control of the chosen Hero returns to its previous owner. All Order Markers that were on the figure’s Army Card will stay on the Army Card.

FOCUSED THOUGHTS
Once per turn, you may look at one unrevealed Order Marker on an Army Card in play. If that Order Marker is on an Army Card you control, you may move it to any other Army Card you control.

If you did not place a White Summon unit this turn, instead of taking a turn with Gideon Jura, you may take a turn with any White Summon you control.

AVATAR OF JUSTICE
Add 1 to Gideon Jura’s Attack number for each opponents’ figure within 2 clear sight spaces of Gideon, up to a maximum of +3.

COUNTER STRIKE
When rolling defense dice against a normal attack from an adjacent attacking figure, all excess shields count as unblockable hits on the attacking figure.

WHITE SUMMONING 
You may choose to have this Greater Air Elemental not start the game on the battlefield. If you do it must be summoned onto the battlefield by a figure with White Summoning Special Power.

SWIRLING VORTEX
When an opponent’s small or medium figure moves onto a space within 2 clear sight spaces of an Air Elemental you control, that figure must end its move there. Figures can never move through any figure affected by Swirling Vortex.

VORTEX PULL
After flying with this Greater Air Elemental, 
you may choose one small or medium figure it passed over this turn. The player who controls the chosen figure must place it on a space adjacent to this Greater Air Elemental, if possible. Figures never take leaving engagement attacks when moved by Vortex Pull.

STEALTH FLYING
When counting spaces for this Greater Air Elemental’s movement, ignore elevations. BLUE SUMMONING 
You may choose to have this Greater Water Elemental not start the game on the battlefield. If you do it must be summoned onto the battlefield by a figure with Blue Summoning Special Power.

WATER MASTERY
While this Greater Water Elemental is on a water space, add 1 to its Attack and Defense.

WATER TUNNEL
If this Greater Water Elemental ends its normal movement on a water space, you may immediately place it on any empty same-level water space within 5 spaces. If this Greater Water Elemental is engaged when it starts its Water Tunnel, it will not take any leaving engagement attacks.

WATER SLAM SPECIAL ATTACK
Range 1. Attack 3 + Special
Any figure adjacent to this Greater Water Elemental is affected by the Water Slam Special Attack. Roll 3 attack dice once for all affected figures, if this Greater Water Elemental is on a water space add 1 to this attack. Each figure rolls defense separately. This Greater Water Elemental cannot attack using its Water Slam Special Attack on the same turn it uses Water Tunnel.

ILLUSIONARY DECEPTION
At the start of the turn of a Purple Spellcaster you control, you may switch spaces of an Illusionary Projection you control with the Purple Spellcaster. Figures moved by Illusionary Deception never take any leaving engagement attacks.

If your army has two or more of the same Uncommon Army Card, you must keep those figures separate (that is, keep track of which figure belongs to which card). For example, if you are using two Squads of Rhox Veterans, you must clearly mark each Rhox Veteran figure and a matching Rhox Veterans Army Card so you can tell which Rhox Veteran is being activated by which Order Markers. You may choose to have the Flamewing Phoenixes not start the game on the battlefield. If you do they must be summoned onto the battlefield by a figure with Red Summoner Special Power.

REBIRTH

Whenever you play a Red Spell Card, if you have at least one Flamewing Phoenix on the battlefield, place one of your own previously destroyed Flamewing Phoenixes on a empty space adjacent to a Red Spellcaster you control. You may only use Rebirth once per turn. 

FLYING
When counting spaces for Flamewing Phoenixes’ movement, ignore elevations. You may choose to have the Zombies of Ravnica not start the game on the battlefield. If you do they must be summoned onto the battlefield by a figure with Black Summoner Special Power.

DARKNESS ARISES
At the start of the turn of a Black Spellcaster you control, if all the Zombies of Ravnica have been destroyed, you may roll the 20-sided die. If you roll a 12 or higher, place each of the Zombies of Ravnica on an empty space within 4 clear sight spaces of that Black Spellcaster.
